The roots & records of the ancient nutritional science known as Ayurveda are said to date back to somewhere around 5,000 years ago. It’s focuses on preventative care with much emphasis of “balance” between the individual pattern of energy in one’s body and nature.
On Saturday April 11th, 2020, from 2-4pm, join Allison Kellman as she introduces us to this system often referred to as “the sister science to Yoga”. Allison was introduced to yoga while away at college in upstate New York. She found it a useful tool to handle stress while balancing school, work, internships and being human. Quickly she learned it was not just the physical practice that kept her coming back, but the mental transformations that were occurring on a subtler level. After completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2015, Allison became curious about yoga’s sister science Ayurveda and has since become a dedicated student of Ayurveda under the guidance of Cory Tixier and Jennifer Ayres of the Integral Yoga Institute’s Ayurveda Academy. Both her teachers trained and directly worked with Vasant Lad, known also as “Dr. Lad” who is one of the most, if not the most renown & respected Ayurvedic physicians in the world. Allison is passionate about sharing the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and humbled by the potential to help people connect back to the natural rhythms and cycles of nature in this crazy modern world.
