Arising at the conclusion of the vedantic period of philosophy that dates back from 200BCE – 500CE comes the threads known as the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. This systematic explanation of yoga practice and it’s underlying metaphysical concepts has been one of the most influential commentary on yoga to the West, as well as introduces us to the “8 limbs of Yoga”.
The yoga sutras can provide useful perspective into questions like:
What does “taking yoga off your mat” mean?
What and why are spiritual practices relevant?
Purpose and process of life?
Where does many of the concepts of yoga come from?
How should one prepare for meditation?
Where does meditation take us?
Join Steve Dessimone on February 29th from 2-4pm, for an introductory level educational two hour workshop behind these sutras and how they may be relevant to you.
Participants may want to have a notebook and something to write with. Comfortable clothing is fine.
